Mr Audun Sigurdsson (CMCh, FRCS (Gen) The clinic is led by Mr Audun Sigurdsson (CMCh, FRCS (Gen), a highly experienced and qualified Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgeon. Audun qualified in 1983 and since then has worked extensively in general surgery, before becoming a specialist in obesity surgery. As well as running his own practice, Audun also works as a consultant surgeon at the Princess Royal Hospital, an NHS hospital based in Shropshire and at the private Priory Hospital in Edgbaston, Birmingham
Experienced Specialist Audun has been performing laparoscopic weight loss surgery as a Consultant Surgeon for the last seven years and has performed over 1000 weight loss operations in that time. He specialises in laparoscopic operations (keyhole surgery) for weight loss, either laparoscopic adjustable gastric band insertion or laparoscopic gastric bypass. He also performs redo operations in patients who have had complications or failure after weight loss operations in the past. Audun is a member of the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity (IFSO), Association of Upper GI Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (AUGIS), Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (ALS), Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPS) and the British Medical Association (BMA).
